For the first part of your write up you need to select two different performers who make use of technology in their live shows – for each artist/band you
need to write about the following :-
What technology do they use during live
shows -
How is it used?
Is it pre programmed and just triggered to
play along with, or is it an electronic instrument that is played live? Does it
form the main parts of the show or is it used for background only? Does it need
a computer/sequencer to work it?
How do they combine it with traditional
instrumentation?
Is it used to process the live sound of a
real instrument? How are tempo issues dealt with? What safety net do they have
if equipment fails?
Are there any issues/limitations they have
to think about?
By using the technology are they restricted
to pre programmed things that stop them improvising? How much of the work needs
to be done before the show? Can they change mid show or are they stuck with
what they programmed before the show?
