Find 3 clips that are the same format/genre (e.g. Space Films, Chocolate adverts etc). These should be specific clips (around 3-5 mins) that you can find on Youtube. You are required to embed the clip to your blog post. Make sure your clips make use of sound/music differently so that you can compare them later on!
Write about how the videos make use of sound & music, include a timeline of the structure of the use of sound. E.g. 0-30 secs dialogue only, 30-60 music creeping in with some sound effect (which use panning), 60-90 secs - no music only scraping sound FX.
Is the music diegetic or non-diegetic - Info about diegetic & non-diegetic Sound - or a combination?
How does the music/sound enhance the video?
How does it make the viewer feel?
How do the clips use music/sound differently?
Compare the clips and assess how successful/appropriate you think the sound is for the clip.
